I like the shiny mist that seems to pour out from the rock holes!

Much cooler than Prometheus.
Let's hope they decide not to smooch any alien critters they find crawling around.

Yeah, I saw it opening night and while it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen it was just marred by bad writing and bad characterizations and bad rationales (I'm a top scientist in my field, so I should find nothing wrong with the idea of going to an alien planet and immediately taking off my helmet to breath that fresh alien air as soon as I get there. Hey! What's this weird semi-sentient black goo? I think I'll stick my finger in it!)

Worst of all it presents a bunch of easily answered Big Questions too which the answers are not provided and will not be provieded until the sequel comes out (or possibly the sequel to the sequel, we'll just have to keep buying tickets and find out).

Prometheus manages to make Battleship! look smart. So it can't be said that it did not accomplish anything.

haha my thoughts exactly.
While I enjoyed the epic enviro & design work I just kept thinking "is this an Alien remake?"
And who would lower a cyborg when it would have been quicker and easier to kick him off the side ?

These scientists weren't of the smart variety. They had to lower the cyborg to keep themselves from accidentally kicking one of their own over the edge.

Oh wait, he wasn't a cyborg? Oops. My bad! Are you sure, he always seemed like one?
